The R.C. Church stands at Hoofdstraat 2. Its nave dates from 1810 and was created by M. Soiron. The Sint-Jan de Doperkerk stands on a church hill in Mechelen. Mill, grain and brewing history

Mechelen's earlier economic history is also connected with specific places. The Commandeursmolen / Onderste Molen was donated to the Commandery of the Order of Malta in 1215. Subsequently, the tenants of its lands were required to have their grain milled there. The Panhuis was a compulsory brewery belonging to the lords of Wittem. The two historic places therefore represent different aspects of earlier village life: the mill is associated with the milling of grain, while the Panhuis is associated with the brewing activities of the lords of Wittem.

Watercourse and hiking trail

The Mechelderbeek flows through Mechelen. The “Langs de Geul bij Mechelen” hiking trail offers a different perspective on the landscape. It is 11.8 km long and leads from Mechelen towards Elzetterbos.
