The Parrocchia di Sant'Ambrogio is a Gothic-Catalan church dating from between the late 15th and early 16th centuries. It has three naves; in the broad, high central nave, several pillars combine to form pointed arches. The Chiesa Santa Maria Vergine has been documented since the 12th century. Its floor plan is in the shape of a Greek cross, with a central dome dating from the 19th century. The church is normally closed and reopens in September for the celebrations held in its honour.

One of the notable memorial sites is the Monument Sa Cruxi 'e marmuri, which dates from 1550 and is associated with the historic site of executions. On the side facing the piazzetta, it bears an image of Christ; on the opposite side, an image of the Madonna with the Christ Child. The Monumento al Santissimo Redentore was erected on the occasion of the Holy Year of 1900 under Pope Leo XIII.

The Casa della Cultura is a building from the final decade of the 19th century. It is located in the town centre and, with its large inner courtyard, features a typical element of Campidano house architecture. The courtyard contains a bunker that recalls the building's use as an air-raid shelter during the Second World War. Today, the Casa della Cultura also houses a theatre and the municipal music school.

The Chiesetta di San Valeriano was intended to serve as the private chapel of the Spiga family, who had it built on their own property opposite the manor house. The foundation stone was laid on 24 October 1906 by Pietro Balestra, Archbishop of Cagliari, and the chapel was consecrated on 5 May 1910. Its marble altar houses a statue of Saint Valerian. The Chiesetta also contains a statue of Saint Lawrence, as well as the cart used to transport it. The Parrocchia del Santissimo Redentore has a 26-metre-high bell tower with a square floor plan and functioning bells; the church was consecrated on 29 June 1970.

Museums, festivals and experiences for different days

The Museo Sardo di Antropologia ed Etnografia is located in the Cittadella Universitaria di Monserrato and displays traditional Sardinian costumes as well as ethnographic objects. The Museo delle Ferrovie della Sardegna occupies two vaulted buildings covering more than 1,000 m². Historical railway vehicles and original memorabilia can be seen there. On 26 June 2025, the museum in the ARST station on Via Pompeo in Monserrato reopened to the public.

The festivals also offer insight into local traditions. The San Sebastiano festival in Monserrato ends with a large bonfire, the “Su fogadoni de santu Sebastianu”. The “Sa festa de sa binnenna” includes a parade of floats decorated with equipment from the world of grape harvesting. In Monserrato, “Su fordallinu” was the term used for the festive dress of wealthy female landowners.

For days with children, the Parco Magico on Via dell’Argine has a clear focus: it is considered Monserrato's first explicitly inclusive playground, and most of the play equipment is intended for children aged 2 to 11.
