The parish church of Chiesa di San Giorgio Vescovo in Donorì is dedicated to Saint George, Bishop of Cagliari and patron saint of the town. Its construction dates back to the beginning of the 17th century, when Donorì was rebuilt after a flood had destroyed the town.

The rural church of Chiesa sa Defenza, known as Sa Defenza in Sardinian, was built in 1732. In Località Coxinas, it is surrounded by fields and olive groves.

The festival of San Giorgio Vescovo, Donorì’s patron saint, is celebrated in the third week of April with a procession, a parade in Sardinian traditional dress, musical performances and fireworks. The main festival in honour of the Madonna of Sa Defenza takes place on the third weekend of September and includes a traditional procession, Sardinian traditional dress and Traccas, decorated ox-drawn carts. The eighth edition of Donori TerrAccogliente, featuring cultural and food-and-wine routes, was announced for Saturday, 12 October 2024, and Sunday, 13 October 2024.

The former Monte Granatico is one of the oldest buildings in Donorì and hosts cultural activities and initiatives.

Archaeological and historical traces

Excavations at the Inguttosu Mannu Tomba dei giganti uncovered numerous human skeletons laid one above another, indicating that it was used as a collective tomb. The burial site rests directly on a rock outcrop and has an apsidal corridor. Mitza ’e Fidi is just under 10 metres long and built from white and reddish granite blocks.

The disused Miniera di S'Ortu Becciu mine lies a short distance from the town of Donorì and extracted silver-bearing lead and quartz. The ancient site of S'Acqua 'e is Dolus is also located in the surrounding area.
