Nature

The heron has been the heraldic bird of Kölln-Reisiek since 1982. As early as the beginning of the 20th century, there was a large heron colony in Kölln-Reisiek's Köllner Wried. The Krückau lowlands are an important food source for the heron. Kölln-Reisiek also supports measures to preserve and restore the natural character of the Krückau lowlands.

Architectural Heritage

The historic farmstead at Dorfstraße 3 is characterized by two large thatched-roof buildings. The main building is a 13-bay timber-framed hall house; the same farmstead also includes an eight-bay three-post barn. Restoration secured the foundation, repaired or replaced structural elements and boarding, and renewed the roof.

Agriculture

Köllner Hof offers a farm box containing its own freshly harvested vegetables, with a changing weekly selection. Köllner Hof is listed as a farm whose operations have followed Bioland guidelines since 1989. Köllner Hof also grows fresh vegetables and strawberries as organically produced goods.
