Niedererbach: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Niedererbach can then continue searching for accommodation. Niedererbach has three signposted local red kite hiking trails: the Purple Red Kite Trail is 14 km long, the Red Red Kite Trail 9 km, and the Blue Red Kite Trail 6 km.

Hiking

The Blue Red Kite Trail leads through the Fischbach Valley into the Sandbach Valley and back. It runs mainly along forest and meadow paths with natural surfaces. The Red Red Kite Trail leads through the Sandbach Valley to the Obererbacher Kopf and then back.

After its initial section, the Purple Red Kite Trail runs almost exclusively along forest paths. The Blue Red Kite Trail occasionally offers views of the forest behind Niedererbach and towards the Feldberg. A short section of the Purple Red Kite Trail offers far-reaching panoramic views.

Nature

Tourism materials present the Westerwald as a hiking landscape with forests, valleys, attractive destinations and panoramas. The WesterwaldSteig is a 235-kilometre-long hiking trail with 16 stages and is certified as a quality trail.

Geographical setting

Niedererbach lies in a low-lying or basin location surrounded by slopes. The local water network comprises the Erbach, Fischbach, Sandbach and the stream from Kirchenstück. The Fischbach enters Niedererbach from the southwest and flows into the Erbach there. The stream from Kirchenstück passes the Niedererbacher barbecue hut before flowing into the Erbach. The four streams flowing through Niedererbach converge in the town centre.

Culture

The local Church of St. Catherine preserves the Romanesque west tower of the former church; the nave and choir were newly built in 1906.
