Nature and trails
West of Rockeskyll lies the Rockeskyller Kopf, a Quaternary volcanic complex with exposed sections of the former crater rim and the former lava lake phase. These geological features are used for geotourism and can be viewed along Geopark Gerolstein Route 3 using the information panels.
A circular trail around the Rockeskyller Kopf begins and ends in Rockeskyll at the parking area opposite the church. It is 4.4 km long, takes approximately 1.5 hours, and includes volcanic formations, information panels, a panoramic view, as well as views towards Kasselburg and over the Kyll Valley. Kasselburg is recorded as a castle approximately near the town centre of Rockeskyll.
Bremelchen is recorded as a mountain approximately near the town centre of Rockeskyll. Heidkopf, Scharteberg and Ernstberg are each recorded as a mountain approximately in the surrounding area of the town centre of Rockeskyll.
Culture and history
The village church of Rockeskyll is the late Gothic parish church of St Bartholomew. It was built in 1511 on a small hill in the centre of the village.
