Wellen: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Wellen offers hiking and cycling in the Upper Moselle landscape. An extensive network of hiking trails leads through nature and vineyards, while access to the Moselle Cycle Route extends towards France, Trier and Koblenz. Culture
The village is home to the Catholic filial church of St Kunibert, a Neo-Gothic hall church dating from 1893. The Kalkwerk monument zone, listed as a heritage site, comprises industrial, administrative and community buildings. It also includes the Mariendorf housing colony and a director's villa.
At Moselstraße 27/38 stands a three-sided farm dating from 1689, which was extended in 1878. A cellar portal with a coat-of-arms relief at Moselstraße 45 dates from 1613; a late Neoclassical transverse house at Moselstraße 49 dates from 1859.
The historic village zone preserves building fabric from the 17th to the 19th century and a distinctive streetscape. A wayside cross in the vineyards southwest of Wellen, near Obermoselstraße, is described as a Neoclassical sandstone cippus dating from 1836.
Nature
On the right bank of the Moselle, Wellen is a waypoint on the section of the Moselle Cycle Route leading from Nittel to Trier. The route runs through Wellen and Temmels and is described as an easy route covering 24.6 kilometres.
The International Geological Educational Trail Nittel between Nittel and Machtum passes through Wellen. The educational trail was opened after two mammoth teeth were found and explains the geological history of the Upper Moselle as well as mammoth finds.

The Upper Moselle Car Tour passes through Wellen and is presented as a circular route focusing on the wine villages of the Upper Moselle, the Saargau and the Roman heritage.
