The Booser Eifel Tower is currently closed. The approximately 25-metre-high wooden tower stands on the 557-metre-high Schneeberg, on the edge of the Booser Maar Nature Reserve. The Traumpfad Booser Doppelmaartour begins at the hiking car park at the “Booser Doppelmaar” Volcano Park station. The Kratertour and Stumpfarmweg are circular hiking trails that pass the Booser Eifel Tower and both Boos maars. The Eifelturmpfad Boos is another hiking trail in Boos. When choosing between the two circular trails, the tower and maars serve as shared landmarks; the Traumpfad route can be identified by its starting point at the hiking car park.

Its exterior paintings, dating to around 1255, are considered the best-preserved from the High Middle Ages in Germany. In Mendig, the Lava-Dome is the German Volcano Museum. The castle, abbey and industrial heritage thus offer a different focus from Boos’s nature and hiking trails.
