Geographical Location

Kaltenengers lies on the left bank of the Rhine, about 10 kilometers north of Koblenz, at Rhine kilometer 601. The town is one of the so-called Rhine villages, together with the neighboring municipalities of St. Sebastian and Urmitz.

Kaltenengers is included in the Volcano Park and lies within the wider Lake Laach Geopark area.

Culture and History

The German Pumice Museum is located in Kaltenengers. The town was first mentioned in historical records in 1302 as Klein-Engers and in 1438 as Callen-Engers.
