Fischbach: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Fischbach Copper Works reconstructs ore-processing and smelting methods from the period before 1800. The complex includes a fully functional forge reminiscent of the work carried out by historic mine forges. Copper ore was mined at the Hosenberg mine in Fischbach until 1792. The copper works uses 70-kilogram wooden stamps to crush ore.

Hiking

Visitors can walk through the interconnected tunnel systems of the Fischbach copper mine. The mining trail near Fischbach is approximately 4 kilometres long and has 17 stations. It includes old tunnels, open pits and other relics of copper mining. The Fischbach copper mine contains underground cavities up to 30 metres high. The mining trail offers panoramic views in a natural setting.

The museum is described as child-friendly. The accessible tunnel offers the opportunity to feel mining tools, minerals and historic wood.
