Schuld: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Schuld is home to the Schuld Open-Air Theatre, an open-air theater built in 1948 where theatrical performances take place during the summer holidays. Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Schuld can then continue searching for accommodation.

Culture and History

The Catholic parish church of St. Gertrude in Schuld dates from the mid-13th century. The Schorn Chapel is a pilgrimage church associated with the Schorn family and was built before the 17th century after a farmer was rescued from a flood on the Ahr. Its processional route was developed in 1976 as the Seven Sorrows Trail and comprises seven stations representing the Seven Sorrows of Mary.

Geology and Landscape

The Schuld GEO Trail is a geological and landscape trail that presents a geological journey around Schuld. Eleven information boards explain geological phenomena in the region. Child-oriented explanations and observation puzzles give the trail a family-friendly format. The GEO Trail is divided into an 8.8-kilometer version and an 8.1-kilometer version.

The GEO Trail reaches the Spicher Ley. From there, the route offers a view over Schuld toward the 623-meter-high Aremberg. The Martinshütte is a place for a longer break, offers a beautiful view, and has an information board on the GEO Trail. The GEO Trail also passes the remains of a former Roman settlement near Schuld.

Hiking and Cycling

Circular hiking trail No. 4 begins in the center of Schuld at the rest area beneath the linden tree by the bridge over the Ahr. The AhrSteig approaches Schuld via hidden paths and rugged sections along sandstone walls. On the Ahr Cycle Path, the section from Schuld to Ahrbrück is passable throughout. Cyclists must dismount at a larger construction site in the center of Schuld.
