Leimbach: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

At Weidendell, the Enz Valley Cycle Path runs along a former railway line. In the wider regional surroundings of the South Eifel, the Enz Cycle Path follows the river through quiet valleys, idyllic villages and historic landscapes. In the wider regional surroundings of the South Eifel, the Enz Cycle Path between Pronsfeld and Neuerburg includes a section on a former railway line with two tunnels. Also in the wider regional surroundings of the South Eifel, the Enz Cycle Path can be combined with the Prüm Cycle Path to create a three- to four-day circular tour. The preserved Weidendell Tunnel is described as one of the highlights of the Enz Valley Cycle Path.

History

Near Leimbach, the Weidendell Tunnel is located on the former railway line between Pronsfeld and Neuerburg. The associated railway line was officially opened on 6 July 1907 and closed on 28 May 1989. From 2002 onwards, the former railway line was converted into a cycle path.
