The kids’ course at Sontra’s pump track is designed as a playful introduction to roller sports for toddlers and balance-bike riders. It features asphalt rollers and bends around 20 centimetres high. The mountain biking skills course in Sontra offers something different: it is 380 metres long, covers around 1,000 square metres and has an elevation difference of approximately 1.5 metres. Features include two wooden bridges, a rock garden, a sand section with varying levels of difficulty and a log ride—that is, a descent over a tree trunk. Mining on Brodberg has a long history: copper was extracted there more than 500 years ago, followed later by cobalt and heavy spar. The town hall and Brodberg represent different aspects of local history—visible half-timbered architecture in the town and the long-standing importance of mining in the surrounding area.
