The Willanzheim Village Culture Trail is a 5 km circular route with eight information boards. Guided tours are available for groups and school classes. Hiking trails around Hüttenheimer Tannenberg wind through the vineyard landscape. The H1 trail, “Historic Paths around Tannenberg,” is approximately 5.4 km long, has been awarded the “Paths to Wine” quality seal and starts at the Hüttenheim hiking car park. Information boards along the route explain details of the cultural landscape. The H2 trail also passes through the vineyard landscape and is listed as 4 km long. At approximately 5.4 km, H1 is longer than the 4 km H2; both pass through the vineyard landscape.

The Hüttenheim hiking trails pass just a few metres from the Kneipp pool at the Neuwiesenbach spring. The pool lies southeast of Hüttenheim at the foot of Tannenberg and offers a refreshing stop. If you plan to stop here, check local conditions before your visit.

Fortified church and ecclesiastical history

The fortified church complex defines the centre of Willanzheim. St Martin’s Church is also part of the village’s history: it became the seat of an ancient parish and is the mother church of Tiefenstockheim and Obernbreit. These two facts reflect different aspects of ecclesiastical history and make St Martin’s a focus in its own right, alongside the hiking trails.
