Villié-Morgon combines a wine-growing region with a network of hiking trails. The network comprises four short loops as well as more challenging routes of 8, 14, 20 and 25 km. The Morgon wine-growing region extends around the Côte du Py hill.

Hiking
The hike at the Côte du Py offers 360-degree views over the Crus of Beaujolais. The Circuit du Chêne is a 14 km route that combines impressive landscapes with local heritage. The hikes organised by Chemins & Racines in Villié-Morgon are open to everyone.
The Les sentiers du Gaulois circular trail starts at the Place de l’église, where parking is available. The 20 km circular route passes through vineyards and wooded areas and crosses rivers.
Wine-growing and history
The geographical area of the Morgon appellation consists exclusively of the municipality of Villié-Morgon in the Rhône department. Wine-growing in Villié-Morgon is documented by a deed recording the sale of a plot of land from the Sire de Beaujeu to a vassal in 956. In 1953, the producers set up a tasting cellar in the Château de Fontcrenne, which is classified as a historic monument.
Culture and landscape
The Caveau de Morgon is located in a late-17th-century château set in a wildlife park. Morgon wines are sold and available for tasting on site. Other Beaujolais appellations are also available, along with regional products such as Jacoulot liqueurs, honey, jams and oils.
Château Bellevue is surrounded by a park with two-hundred-year-old trees and various flower species. The botanical discovery trail at Château Bellevue can be explored independently using a visitor brochure.
Events
At the Marche des Cadoles in October, visitors can enjoy a tasting of the six Climats of the Morgon Cru. The Marche de L’Espoir is a hiking event held in March.
