Taponas: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the Lônes du Val de Saône area, seven established trails lead through islands and lônes, riparian forests, grazed or mown meadows, and marshes. The network of trails covers 30 kilometres and is equipped with themed information boards; some of the trails start at the port of Taponas, among other places.
Culture and History
The Church of Saint Isidore in Taponas was built around the 12th century. During restoration work, murals depicting the Annunciation were discovered in the old apse in 1955. Experts date them to the 13th century; they are protected as historic monuments.
The historic site of the Abbatiale de l'Assomption de Belleville and the Musée Claude Bernard are located in the vicinity of Taponas. The closed Artothèque du Centre d'Arts Plastiques de Villefranche-sur-Saône is also located nearby. The Artothèque du Musée Paul-Dini is likewise located in the vicinity of Taponas.
Landscape and Water
The mountains of Citadelle and Grand Crêt are located in the vicinity of Taponas. In the wider region are the landscape features Montagne Saint-Pierre and Montagne de Rochefort, which are also classified as mountains.
The Lône de Taponas is a former branch of the watercourse and is gradually filling with sediment.
At the Saône in Taponas, the fishing spot has a ramp for anglers with boats to launch into the water. There is also a fishing platform reserved specifically for anglers with reduced mobility.
Activities
The Poney Club de l'Ecluse offers pony and double-pony riding lessons for children, teenagers, and adults. Riding lessons take place year-round, from beginner to advanced level.
