Richerenches preserves traces of the Templar era. The surviving features include the apse of the present-day church, the lower part of the Beffroi gate and the Maison Templière. The Musée de la Truffe et du Vin is housed in Richerenches' Templar commandery; it can be visited free of charge and independently throughout the year. The Chapelle Saint Alban is an easily accessible chapel among Richerenches' vineyards, documented as early as 1138. At Les Alpagas de Bourbouton farm, alpaca wool and handicraft products made from this wool are sold on site.
Truffles and Wine
Local associations offer tastings of omelettes with Tuber melanosporum every Saturday at lunchtime from December to mid-March. The Truffle Fair takes place on the third Sunday in January at the Église Saint Denis. From December to mid-March, truffle growers offer demonstrations of truffle hunting with a truffle dog on Saturdays by appointment.
Trails and Landscape
Circuit 1 runs for 16.35 km from Richerenches to Visan and back and can be completed by bicycle or on foot. Circuits 2 and 3 are 8.5 km and 11 km long respectively and are designated for hybrid bikes and hiking. Circuit 18 is a walking trail leading to Richerenches' historic monuments. The easy circular hike R11 Entre Vignes Lavandes et Truffières passes through the Richerenches countryside, vineyards, truffle-growing areas and lavender fields.
