The Louis Gauthier Collection has been open to the public since 2009. It includes school materials, archaeological objects and an extensive collection relating to natural science.

The parish church houses the painting “Saint Antoine de Padoue caressant l’Enfant Jésus entre saint Sébastien et saint Roch” from the 17th century in the Chapelle Saint-Roch.

History

The Chapelle Sainte Cécile Sainte Croix is the oldest building in the municipality. Its foundation dates back to the 7th century, and the first written mention dates from 1177.

The surviving gate of the former fortifications is overlooked by the Tour de l’Horloge, whose wrought-iron bell tower dates from 1742.

The Chapelle Notre Dame de Consolation was rebuilt in 1858. It contains a walnut door and religious works of art, including a terracotta statue of the Virgin Mary.

Wine

Winegrowing in Sainte-Cécile-les-Vignes has been documented since antiquity; in 1985, an ancient workshop for producing wine amphorae was discovered in the Quartier du Peyron.

The Cave des Vignerons Réunis on the Route de Valréas was built in 1936 and expanded in 1949, 1952, 1955 and 1961.

At the Domaine de la Présidente, visitors can taste wines made from fifty-year-old vines in the Caveau. At the Domaine Moun Pantaï, wines from the Côtes-du-Rhône, Côtes-du-Rhône Villages and Cru Cairanne appellations are available for tasting on site.

Routes

The 14-kilometre “Chemin de vigne” hiking trail runs through the vineyards and allows visitors to discover the wildlife and plant life of the Aygues.

The “Aygues Ouvèze” cycle route follows roads accessible to everyone and is suitable for a family-friendly bike ride.

Sainte-Cécile-les-Vignes is located less than 15 kilometres northeast of Orange and is accessible by road, including the A7 motorway.
