The Église Saint-Luc in Ménerbes was probably rebuilt after the Wars of Religion in the 16th century on the site of a former Saint-Sauveur priory. It displays characteristic architectural features of late Gothic architecture in southern France; its painted triumphal arch depicts the Triumph of the Eucharist. Those wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Ménerbes can choose this place as their destination.

Culture and History

The Porte Saint-Sauveur is a fortified gate from the 16th century that was integrated into Ménerbes’s medieval defensive walls. The Dolmen de la Pitchoune is considered the only Neolithic burial monument in the Vaucluse département.

The Musée du Tire-Bouchon in Ménerbes displays corkscrews from the 17th century and later in more than 50 display cases, including some unique pieces. The museum offers self-guided visits as well as guided tours upon request. Les Musicales du Luberon organises concerts of classical, lyrical or sacred music in Ménerbes in spring and summer, as well as on the day of the truffle market at the end of the year.

Nature

The Jardin Botanique des Domaine de La Citadelle covers 5 hectares and comprises six restored traditional terraces. The garden can be explored independently or, upon request, as part of a guided tour. A footpath marked with blue arrows leads south around the Abbaye Saint-Hilaire and takes approximately 15 minutes.

Truffles and Wine

The Maison de la Truffe et du Vin du Luberon is located in the listed 17th-century Hôtel d'Astier de Montfaucon in Ménerbes. It offers a vaulted wine cellar with 170 wines from local producers, as well as a delicatessen boutique specialising in truffles and regional products. In its French garden, it serves platters of local products and regional wines.

The Ménerbes truffle market has traditionally been held since 1997 on the last Sunday of the year at the Place de l'Horloge.

The intermunicipal tourist office of Ménerbes provides a town map as well as information about local museums and activities.
