The landscape of Lioux includes the Falaise de la Madeleine, a 7-kilometre-long fault scarp up to 80 metres high. It can be viewed particularly well from the rest area at the start of the D60A on the banks of the Ruisseau de Lioux.
Landscape and Nature
The Natura 2000 site “Rochers et combes des Monts de Vaucluse” also includes Lioux. Lioux is located in the Parc naturel régional du Luberon. The Grande Combe de Lioux is considered a wild area with numerous caves. In the lowered area of the fault at the Falaise de la Madeleine, lacustrine marly and sandy sediments were deposited above the limestone slab.

Hiking
The circular trail at the Falaise de la Madeleine is part of the Vaucluse département’s tourist hiking trail network, the PDIPR 84.
Culture and History
The elements of the Château de Javon listed by decree of 4 August 1978 include the Renaissance gate and the Renaissance window opening onto the courtyard. The ruins of the Castellas stand on a rocky promontory above the Combe de Lioux. Lioux is also home to the Romanesque Church of Saint Romain.
The Fontaine Verger is a spring with a washhouse below it. La Verrerie is a preserved bastide and the only remnant of earlier glassmaking at this location. Other cultural sites of tourist interest in Lioux include the ruins of the Château de Bezaure; they date from the 14th and 16th centuries.
