History
The house of César Moulin is associated with the beginning of the faience industry in 1728. Charcoal kilns are still visible in Les Combes. In the past, mules carried their loads from the charcoal kilns down into the valley.
Geographical setting
Castellet-en-Luberon lies on the northern slope of the Grand Luberon and stretches from the Calavon River to the Mourre Nègre. Mourre Nègre reaches an elevation of 1,125 metres. From there, the panorama extends from the Mediterranean to the Alps.
Routes
From the foothills, routes with varying, often steep gradients lead to the ridge and Mourre Nègre. The cycle route from Apt to the Plateau des Claparèdes runs along the D48 through Castellet-en-Luberon.
