Saint-Germain-le-Fouilloux is located at the confluence of three valleys. Pottery was an important local activity here for a long time, while the village church preserves Romanesque architecture.
Culture and History
The Château du Fouilloux is protected in its entirety as a historic monument; it was listed on 1 September 2016. It was completely rebuilt between 1780 and 1790. The Château du Fouilloux is privately owned.
The Château de Fouilloux stands on a hill above the Ernée Valley.
Landscape and Nature
The Vallée de la Morinière is a natural site designated on 24 April 2010 and associated with Changé and Saint-Germain-le-Fouilloux.
Hiking
The Chemin de l’Hommeau begins at the gîte of the same name. The 850 m long trail leads down into the Morinière Valley and is one of the marked hiking trails in the municipality of Saint-Germain-le-Fouilloux. There are two educational panels along the trail about hedges and trees.
Community Life
The community festival “Les Folies germinoises” included an exhibition of historic vehicles.
