Évron: Holiday apartments and houses

Évron combines sacred architectural heritage, paths through former landscapes, green spaces and a range of event formats. The Basilica of Notre-Dame de l'Épine, Évron Abbey Church, combines Romanesque, Gothic and Neoclassical architectural styles. Every summer, the Festival d'Arts Sacrés takes place in the Basilica of Évron; its six-day programme includes concerts, meetings and discoveries.

Culture

The Château de Montecler has been listed as a historic monument since 2011. The privately owned Château de Montecler can only be viewed from the road. Évron is also home to the Four Sainte-Anne, a lime kiln.

Paths and landscape

The Circuit des Marais is a 3.3 km circular route. It runs through a former marshland area that was drained for subsequent urban development and provides a quick connection to the Circuit des Fours à chaux.

The Circuit des Fours à chaux is a 10 km-long trail that begins in Châtres-la-Forêt and follows an ancient Gallo-Roman road. The Chapelle du Torticolis in Châtres-la-Forêt dates back to the 12th century; there is a lawn with a picnic table by the chapel.

The Zone Verte in Évron is a wooded area with a small pond, suitable for walks and sporting activities. The Parc de la Roë is equipped with tables and benches and is crossed by a stream.

Leisure

The Jardin Aquatique in Évron has leisure pools and a sports pool. It also features a balneotherapy area with a sauna and jacuzzi for adults.

Events and history

Since 1966, the Festival de la Viande in Évron has brought together beef producers from the département and the region. The historical escape game “Résistants” places players in the role of a member of the Resistance who lived in Évron in July 1941.
