Culture and History
Château de Pornic is a medieval fortress crowned by a seaside château and listed in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments. The Tumulus des Mousseaux is one of the megalithic sites in Pornic and is classified as a historic monument.
The “Pornic, cité maritime et paysage de ria” walking route connects Quai L’Herminier with Quai Leray and passes through the Jardin de la ria. Traditional boats are still moored in Pornic harbour, maintained by the Coques en Bois association.

The Faïencerie de Pornic offers a guided factory tour lasting approximately 45 minutes, during which a member of staff explains the production process for faience, from the biscuit stage to the finished, decorated product. During a visit, the hand-painting process and the production of the famous “bol-prénom” name bowl are also explained.

At the 5th edition of the Festival nautique de Pornic, the public can take part in introductory sessions in sea kayaking, sailing, paddleboarding, hand sailing and fishing, as well as visit the boats and the festival village.
