La Salvetat-Peyralès: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Statue-menhir du Rech is around 5,000 years old and is displayed in the entrance area of the Jean Boudou media library in La Salvetat-Peyralès. Since 9 September 2020, it has been listed as a historic monument. To date, it is the only statue-menhir discovered in western Aveyron.

The Église Sainte-Croix also reaches far back into history: it is documented as early as 1147 and still stands at the same location on the edge of the Sauveté. The town centre is also home to the Hôtel Panissal, a historic building. The town's cultural programme includes exhibitions, conferences, performances and concerts. The Chapelle de Murat was restored by the association for the protection of La Salvetat-Peyralès' heritage.

The Vallées du Jaoul et du Viaur hike begins in La Salvetat-Peyralès at the car park of the Salle des fêtes. It is a very difficult 33 km circular route with 1,320 metres of elevation gain.

Nature

On the Viaur lies the Aire naturelle de La Roque, a natural recreation area with 10 picnic tables, barbecues, a water point, toilets, rubbish bins and a shelter for hikers. Swimming is permitted but not supervised.

Culture

The wider regional surroundings of La Salvetat-Peyralès include several historic and monastic sites: the Abbaye de Loc-Dieu is represented there as a historic site, as is the Abbaye de Bonnecombe Comps-la-Grand-Ville, Aveyron. The Abbaye de Beaulieu-en-Rouergue is a monastery in the wider regional surroundings.
