Landscape

In the eastern valley and on the hills, Mittainville has extensive woodland areas. More than half of Mittainville's area consists of land used for agriculture and pasture.

History and Culture

The Church of Saint-Rémy was built around 1600. According to an inscription on the second roof truss of the nave, the roof structure dates from 1651 and is attributed to Jacques Laroche. The church features a wooden vault and beams carved with angels, vine leaves and grapes.

Activities

The hiking route “Boucle au Sud de Mittainville à travers champs et villages” passes through fields, quiet hamlets and lanes lined with hedges. Another hike, “Mittainville, Croix Gillet, Gros chêne”, leads to the Gros chêne, an oak tree more than 400 years old.

Ferme Omini is a riding school and educational farm specialising in small animals. There, visitors can experience and feed the animals up close in the company of the keepers and take part in an introduction to ponies. Ferme Omini also offers a two-hour visit with 24 animal-related challenges.

Agriculture

Ferme du Pâtis offers visits with a picnic and sells its own products. Ducks are kept there and non-GMO foie gras is produced.
