The “Val et coteau de Saint-Rémy” Regional Nature Reserve covers around 80 hectares in the Yvette Valley in the south-east of the municipality. The Église Saint-Rémi is also located near the Yvette. For St Rémy Lès Chevreuse, your personal travel itinerary may include renting a holiday apartment.

Culture and History

The present-day building of the Château de Coubertin dates from the late 17th century; a triple avenue of centuries-old lime trees leads to its entrance. The Fondation de Coubertin is based at the Château de Coubertin. It preserves collections of sculptures and drawings by sculptors there, including a significant collection by Joseph Bernard. Every autumn, the Fondation holds a sculpture exhibition in its gallery and in the Jardin des Bronzes.

The Église Saint-Rémi dates from the 11th century. It was closed to the public until the necessary repair work could begin. The Moulin des Clayes on the Yvette also recalls the area's industrial history: in the 19th century, it was a tannery mill and was converted into a wool-fibre processing factory around 1892.

Sightseeing and Events

The Maison-Musée Raymond Devos is located in the house where the artist lived until his death on 15 June 2006; it opened there in 2016. Visitors can explore almost the entire house, including the artist’s personal belongings, instruments and archives. Lively scenography and interactive installations convey his work across humour, poetry, music and the art of language.

From April to October, the Fondation Marta Pan & André Wogenscky organises tours of the Maison-Atelier and the sculpture park together with the Centre des Monuments Nationaux: once a month on a Saturday, with two guided tours each time. The grounds include a park with around twenty sculptures by Marta Pan.

At Lac Beauséjour, the mini-golf course is open from May to September on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. All year round, Irisations offers group courses and workshops for adults, introducing them to leaded glasswork and glass painting.

Surroundings and Local Character

The Baladobus departs from Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse station and provides access to hidden sights in the Vallée de Chevreuse. Around the station, visitors can discover the Ferme de Coubertin and the Forêt Départementale de Méridon.

The Ferme de Saint-Rémy, also known as Ferme de Coubertin, sells cheese, dairy products, eggs and poultry directly from the farm. The municipality of Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse has supported La Jean Racine since the event was founded.
