Culture and history
The Église Saint-André in Chalifert houses a bronze bell created in 1582, which was brought there from a neighbouring municipality in 1793. The church is a rural place of worship dating from the 18th century. It can be visited daily throughout the year, outside services and ceremonies, during the town hall’s opening hours.
Chalifert has three Calvaries located at crossroads, which are particularly well maintained. The restored washhouse also stands in the town centre; it is supplied by a spring from the aquifer in the Brie limestone. L'Ermitage in Chalifert is a venue for dinner shows and cabaret evenings.
Landscape and paths
The eastern and western slopes of the Chalifert spur have long been wooded and form part of the area’s landscape identity. In Chalifert, the banks of the Marne are served by a towpath. In places, this path is so narrow that it is difficult for pedestrians and cyclists to pass alongside one another.

Water and canal
The automated lock at Chalifert opens access to the Canal de Chalifert. The canal is twelve kilometres long and allows boats to travel upstream towards Meaux. In the area of the Canal de Chalifert, through navigation on the Marne remains suspended until the end of 2026.
