Culture and history

The Église Sainte-Anne de Baby was originally built as a seigneurial chapel next to the outbuildings of a château constructed in the 18th century. Above its portal, an engraved date, 1659, provides an indication of the construction of part of the church.

Its architecture also tells of its history: the nave of the Église Sainte-Anne de Baby is built in a checkerboard pattern of chalk and flint. The church also includes a burial rotunda with a conical roof. It originally had three window openings; one of them was reopened during more recent work.

In the vicinity of Baby are the historic site Bernardines de Bray-sur-Seine (Priory) and the historic site Abbaye de la Cour-Notre-Dame.

Public transport

Baby is located in the service area of the public Proxi'bus de La Bassée-Montois. The reservation-only on-demand bus is open to everyone.

The Fête de la Saint-Jean was announced in Baby for 29 June 2024 and 27 June 2026. In selected months, the Amicale Villageoise de Baby offers Jeudis Récréatifs on the second Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the community hall.

In the wider regional surroundings of Baby are the Source de la Voulzie spring and the Haut des Beautés hill. The ruins of the Abbaye de Preuilly, the historic site Abbaye du Paraclet, and the Parc de Pont are also located there.
