In Jacqueville, the presence of the Church of Notre-Dame de la Nativité et Saint Séverin has been documented since the beginning of the 12th century. The church was built in the 12th century and has a Romanesque choir. The Church of Notre-Dame d’Amponville contains two white-painted wooden statues of angels from the 18th century, which are protected as movable historic cultural heritage.

A 16th-century fresco in the Church of Notre-Dame de l’Assomption is titled “Dit des trois morts et des trois vifs” and depicts three mounted noblemen encountering three dead men who have emerged from their graves. The church adjoins a former priory of Saint Victor Abbey and has a rich interior featuring vividly coloured murals.

Amponville has a six-hectare park that is also open to visitors. The park offers walks through sunny and shaded areas, includes a children’s playground and has an open-air theatre for outdoor performances.

The ponds of Amponville and Jacqueville combine the water and the distinctive fauna and flora of this habitat with parapets, stone retaining walls and stone steps that reflect its former uses.

Paths and Connections

The Dolmen de la Pierre Larmoire is located in the neighbouring municipality of Rumont and was discovered in 1855. The described hiking route is not signposted; at least one map is required.

Bus route 3556 connects Buthiers Vieille Ligne with La Chapelle-la-Reine Gare routière and runs via Amponville.
