The Amillis-Pisseloup circular trail combines rural paths with a specific destination in Amillis: the 14.6-kilometre loop passes through Amillis, starts at the town hall car park and leads to the Notre-Dame Grotto. The trail has 126 metres of ascent.

Those who choose Amillis as a travel destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment there.

Culture

The Église Saint-Pierre et Sainte-Flodoberthe preserves special details: its keystones depict Saint Peter, the Lamb and the symbol of the Holy Spirit. The church also has a capital carved in the 11th century.

The Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Grotto in Amillis is a replica of the Massabielle Grotto. It lies south of Amillis on the heights of the Aubetin Valley.

Paths and landscape

Amillis has numerous rural paths and wooded areas that are suitable for walks on foot or horseback. Another circular trail, The former ponds of Amillis, lies in a loop of the Aubetin and overlooks Amillis.

The circular trail The former ponds of Amillis is moderately difficult, 15 kilometres long and also starts at the town hall car park. The former ponds along this trail have disappeared; today, the valley hollows in their place are used as pasture or farmland.

Nature

The Basse Vallée de l’Aubetin area includes Amillis and is designated as a type 2 continental ZNIEFF. The Basse Vallée de l’Aubetin ZNIEFF covers 2,376.41 hectares. Its characteristic habitats include wet meadows and tall-herb communities, mesic meadows, trout areas, riparian vegetation and alder woods.

Cycle route and farms

The 39-kilometre long-distance cycle route The Counts of Champagne, which connects Provins and Coulommiers, passes through Amillis.

When making purchases at Ferme de Baleine, visitors can see the bakery and the ovens. Ferme de Baleine processes part of its grain production from wheat, einkorn, rye and maize into flour using a stone mill, as well as oilseeds from camelina, sunflower and rapeseed into oils. In Amillis, Ferme de Baleine also sells bread and brioche.

Ferme Blondel opens its doors to visitors on the occasion of the Taste Walk.
