History

Parc Laboissière was opened to the public in 2019. It was created on the former grounds of Château Laboissière, which was built in the 17th century.

Rose cultivation in Fontenay-aux-Roses has been documented since 1521; later, the cultivation of the deep-red-flowering Bengal rose also developed there. From the Middle Ages until the 16th century, winegrowing was the village’s most important activity.
