Culture and History

Mastaba 1 is an architecturally unique building clad in white tiles with black grout. It is a unique work by Jean-Pierre Raynaud, which the artist described as a semi-underground shelter inspired by the tomb monuments of ancient Egypt. Mastaba 1 has a permanent collection and hosts concerts and conferences.

The Chapelle Saint-Urbain is also one of the town's historic buildings. It was built between 1866 and 1875 as an emergency chapel for the parish of Colombes and was extended in 1933 and 1935 with a new bell tower and transept.

La Colonne stands at a location that traditionally served as a meeting place for hunters, when La Garenne-Colombes was still a forested area rich in wildlife. It appears to have been erected on the occasion of the division into plots of the new village of La Garenne in 1865.

The Marché du Centre is located in a market hall built in 1879.

Those considering La Garenne-Colombes as a travel destination can combine their stay with plans to rent a holiday apartment.
