The Musée Jean-Léon Gérôme houses the region’s most important collection of Gallo-Roman funerary steles. It is located in a former 1,200 m² Ursuline convent dating from 1680 and displays paintings and sculptures by Jean-Léon Gérôme.

In Vesoul’s historic centre, there are houses built according to a still-medieval model, with rectangular floor plans and stair turrets. The Church of Saint-Georges is an example of early 18th-century religious architecture in Haute-Saône and has a large organ with 3,336 pipes.

Water

Lac de Vesoul-Vaivre is an artificial lake covering 86 hectares, located 3 km from Vesoul city centre. A 5 km pedestrian and jogging path completely encircles the lake.

In the Vesoul area, the Club Nautique Haut-Saônois de Vesoul offers windsurfing, dinghy sailing, catamaran sailing, canoeing, kayaking and pedal boating at the lake’s sailing base on its western side. In the Vesoul area, the club enables people with disabilities to sail using specially designed boats and appropriately adapted facilities.

In the Vesoul area, the Base de Voile Jean-Marie Savet is located on the western shore of Lac de Vesoul-Vaivre. It was established in 1981 and has borne this name since 8 June 2013. The Base de Voile Jean-Marie Savet focuses on adapted equipment, particularly for people with reduced mobility.

Paths

In the Vesoul area, the Chemin Vert is a cycling and walking path that begins in Quincey and connects to EuroVelo 6. Also in the Vesoul area, the Vélorails de Vesoul offer a flat 9 km round trip that takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
