Vezzani: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Vezzani overlooks the Tagnone Valley. When planning a trip, the desire to rent a holiday apartment in Vezzani can be the central consideration.
Culture
In the centre of Vezzani stands the Fountain of the Three Graces. It is made of cast iron and dates from 1867. The façade of the Church of the Annunciation features two carved imperial eagles on a side door.
Vezzani traditionally organises A FESTA DI U LEGNU E DI A FURESTA, the “Days of Wood and the Forest”. During the festival, a small tourist train connects Vezzani with the Palais Vert.
The Saint Michel Chapel, dating from the early 19th century, is located in the hamlet of Letto Majo. The wood museum “A casetta di u legnu” is housed in the former municipal washhouse. It displays a series of objects used in woodworking from the 20th century to the present day.
History
The copper mines of Vezzani are located in Poggiolello. During their operation, 5,500 tonnes of ore were extracted from 1896 to 1914 and from 1925 to 1926; 4,000 tonnes of this were exported to England.
