In the coastal area of Albo, Ogliastro features an unusual beach landscape: the beach consists of black sand and serpentinite pebbles crossed by black and green veins. The D80 runs through the coastal area; north of the hamlet of Albo, a turnoff leads to the beach and the Tour d’Albo. Its grounds are freely accessible, and a short, level dirt path leads to the tower ruins or the tower itself. The Tour d’Albo was built in the second half of the 16th century on the initiative and at the expense of the community of Ogliastro and has been listed as a Monument historique since 4 August 1992.

Paths
The D233 provides access to the village of Ogliastro and continues to Olcani. Below the village, near the D233 bridge over the Olcani River, stands the Church of San Domenicu with its distinctive gable. Its Romanesque façade dates from 1498 and features a semicircular tympanum made of light-green chlorite schist.
The Chemin des Barbaresques begins at the Marine d’Albu. The path passes the Church of San Dumenicu and the ruins of the San Michele chapel and ends via a loop at the Moulin de Guadu Grande. It is 4.9 kilometres long, takes about two hours, is easy, and is marked in yellow as a circular route. The Chemin des Barbaresques also passes through the maquis and provides access to Ogliastro’s local architectural heritage.
San Michele is a Romanesque chapel with a vaulted, semicircular apse. It was once decorated with frescoes and replaced an early Christian building.
Culture and history
The Moulin d’Ogliastro has been fully restored. Its reconstruction and restoration faithfully follow the building’s former use and history. The mill houses three presses, powered by a shared water wheel. The Moulin d’Ogliastro offers visits for residents and visitors travelling in Corsica.
The Chapelle San Roccu at the Marine d’Albu was built between 1850 and 1860. In Ogliastro, Saint Roch is the patron saint of fishermen. The Chapelle San Roccu is open to visitors all year round.
