Meria: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
In Meria, the “Le village abandonné” hiking trail leads from the upper village to the abandoned hamlet of Caracu. The easy 2.8-kilometre circular route is marked in yellow. On a beautiful winter’s day, it offers a scenic balcony-like trail with views of the Corsican Channel and, in the distance, the Apennines.
Those who have chosen Meria as their destination may want to rent a holiday apartment for their stay.
Culture
Meria’s historical heritage includes the Tour de Meria, a round tower built in the 16th century. The Église San Martinu also dates from the 16th century.
The San Paolo chapel is made of small stones and may date back to the 9th century. From the D35 towards Pastina, it can be reached via a path that begins at an EDF mast; the walk takes about 10 minutes.
Local attractions
The Marché des producteurs de Meria takes place in the car park of Camping Aria Marina in Murteda. Plage de Meria is located in the village of Marine de Meria.
