The small Chapelle San Martinu is located on the lower slope below the village of Erbajolo. To visit its interior, the key can be collected from Casa di Marinu.

Nature

In the municipality of Erbajolo, the Association San Cristofalu offers themed hikes focusing on nature and cultural heritage. The circular hike “Les crêtes d’Erbajolo” begins at the Chapelle San Cristofalu above the village of Erbajolo and follows the ridge in a north-northeasterly direction to the summit of Spinerazzie at an elevation of 931 metres.

At the Chapelle Saint-Antoine Saint-Christophe, behind the snack bar, an orientation board made of lava from Riom stands in a landscaped garden. A poem from the beginning of the 20th century praised the view of the five surrounding cantons.

The “Stelle di Corsica” Observatory has been operating in Corsica at an elevation of 750 metres since 2017. Among other equipment, it has a motorised C11 telescope, a 152-millimetre lens for photography, a transmission to a large screen, and a motorised T600 for more advanced observations.

At the “Stelle di Corsica” Observatory, experienced activity leaders offer astronomical discoveries every evening.

History

From the village centre, the ruins of the abandoned village of Casella can be reached in about a 15-minute walk behind the Église Saint-Martin. The ruins of Casella preserve the 15th-century Chapelle Saint-Joseph, with its roofs made of slate slabs and a bell.
