Scata: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The history of Scata dates back more than ten centuries: the village was founded by the Brotherhood of Saint Cecilia. In Scata, remnants from the Roman period through to the present day have been preserved, including evidence from the Middle Ages and the feudal period.

Culture

In the Sainte-Cécile parish church in Scata, a tabernacle was classified as a protected object on 16 October 2006. The di A Cunfraternita di Santa Croce chapel is one of Scata’s noteworthy cultural heritage sites. In addition, some paving stones from the old Roman road have been preserved.

The Lumito site includes the ruins of a medieval village. The San Martinu chapel at the Lumito site has been restored. San Martino di Lumito was the private chapel of Mathilde d’Ampugnani. The building was constructed in the 10th century and partially rebuilt in the 12th century.

Hiking

The Boucle de la Comtesse Mathilde circular hiking trail begins in the village of Scata. It is 8.8 km long and has a moderate difficulty level.

The Lumito site is located in the maquis on a rocky promontory away from the village of Scata.
