Nature
Plage Napoléon is located in the centre of L'Île-Rousse, 200 metres from Place Paoli. It is bordered along its entire length by the Promenade de la Marinella. Plage Napoléon has an accessible route to the water for people with disabilities.
The promenade and the Pietra lighthouse were rehabilitated as part of an ecological and landscape enhancement of the site. The restored Pietra promenade offers a safe walk between the sea and red granite, with views of the lighthouse.
Culture
The Phare de la Pietra dates from the third quarter of the 19th century and is listed in the general inventory of cultural heritage.
In the immediate vicinity of L'Île-Rousse are the ruins of the Tour de Saleccia, the Couvent Saint-Dominique monastery and the Église Saint-François-Xavier church. The Couvent de Marcasso monastery is also located in the surrounding area.
The parish church, dedicated to the Immaculate Conception of Mary, was built in 1892.
History
The covered market of L'Île-Rousse was built in 1844. By decree of 5 January 1993, it was classified as a historic monument.
