Asco: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The Asco Valley is located in Corsica’s Regional Natural Park. Below the village begin the Asco Gorges: a gorge almost four kilometres long, carved into red granite.

Nature
Haut Asco forms an alpine mountain basin with alpine scenery and an alpine climate. The municipal forest of Asco consists predominantly of Corsican pines at elevations between 1,000 and 1,500 metres. A total of 228 plant species have been recorded in the Asco Valley, including 23 endemic species.
An estimated 60 to 100 mouflons live in the Asco Valley. There are also five nests of bearded vultures; three further pairs live in the surrounding area.
Culture and History
The Genoese Bridge is protected as a historic monument and dates from the 15th century. Traditional paths once connected Asco with the pastures of the Cinto Massif. The bell tower of Saint Michael’s Church is classified as a historic monument and dates from the 11th century.
The Maison de la Montagne – Ecomuseum – Mouflon House offers a permanent interactive exhibition about the local heritage, ecology, the protection of natural areas and endemic species.
Activities
The Haut Asco snow and ski resort is located at an elevation of 1,450 metres. It has two 600-metre-long ski runs, two 100-metre-long beginner runs, and a municipal rental service for skis, snowboards, snowshoes and sledges.
The third stage of the GR20 leads to the Haut Asco ski resort and the refuge of the same name there. The A Scaletta via ferrata includes an inverted ladder, a suspended tree trunk and a Nepalese bridge. Another via ferrata below the Asco Gorges leads over rocks interspersed with tafoni.
The Asco Valley also offers discovery walks introducing visitors to nature, mountain fauna and the local heritage.
