Santo-Pietro-Di-Tenda: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture and History

The Ancien couvent Saint-Joseph was rebuilt in 1630 beside a 12th-century Pisan church. The former monastery complex hosted a Consulta led by General Paoli in 1758, is arranged around a Romanesque church and included a cloister.

The Église Saint-Jean-Évangéliste and the Oratoire Sainte-Croix form a Baroque ensemble connected by the bell tower. In Casta, Santo-Pietro-di-Tenda, the Église Saint-Jean and the Chapelle des Pénitents de la Sainte-Croix form a protected historic ensemble. This ensemble of church and chapel has a large forecourt of compacted earth, accessible through an elaborately crafted portal. Its interior is decorated with remarkable trompe-l’œil paintings.

Nature

The protected Agriate area also includes Santo-Pietro-di-Tenda and is open to the public. The area features Mediterranean maquis, dunes, wetlands and archaeological sites dating from the Neolithic period.

The Agriate area, which also extends into Santo-Pietro-di-Tenda, has 37 kilometres of natural, undeveloped coastline. It includes the beaches of Saleccia, Lotu, Ghignu and Ostriconi.

Food and Drink

There were 36 olive mills in Santo-Pietro-di-Tenda. Domaine Casta offers insights into the work of a winery as well as tastings of AOP-Patrimoniu wines. Domaine Casta is organically certified and produces olive oil in L’Osteria, Santo-Pietro-di-Tenda.

Activities

Monte Astu can be accessed from Santu Petru di Tenda via its eastern slope. Le Relais de Saleccia offers 4x4 excursions to explore the Agriate, as well as combined 4x4 and hiking tours. Le Relais de Saleccia also offers electric quad bikes, SSVs and mountain bikes for hire. The services also include 4x4 shuttles to the beaches of Saleccia and Loto.
