As a mountain village in Castagniccia, Bisinchi lies at an altitude of 600 metres and overlooks the Golo Valley. In Bisinchi, the U Cavallu di Bisinchi association offers seven circular routes accessible to everyone for hiking or horseback riding. The U Cavallu di Bisinchi trail network also includes the restoration of former mule tracks.

Those planning to stay in Bisinchi may wish to rent a holiday apartment there.

Landscape and trails

Ponte Novu is also part of the landscape; it overlooks Bisinchi and was the site of the famous Battle of Ponte Novu in 1769. In the area of the former Rustinu, archaeological remains from the Iron Age have been documented at Campu di Bonu.

Culture and customs

The Incadenadu is held in Bisinchi on Good Friday. During the ceremony, an anonymous, masked and barefoot penitent, shackled, carries a cross through the narrow streets of the village of Bisinchi illuminated by torches.

The Church of Saint-Michel, also called San Michele, has a double bell tower made of unrendered stone at the rear. The Stations of the Cross in Bisinchi were listed as a movable cultural property on 9 February 1995. The chapels and churches of Bisinchi were considered well-known holy sites in the 17th century.

Chapels and historical traces

Santa Lucia is a small chapel in the hamlet of Fornu below the village of Bisinchi. A short road leads to the Santa Lucia chapel. Sant’Ilario di Miletro is a chapel situated on the slope below the present-day road. Dating its original masonry to the 10th century is considered possible.

Sant’Ilario di Miletro was stabilised in 2003. The walls were protected against water ingress.
