Prunelli-di-Fiumorbo stretches from the mountains to the sea. To the north, the municipality is bordered by the Fium’Orbu River, and to the south by the Abbatescu River. At the same time, Prunelli-di-Fiumorbo is one of the 143 municipalities in the Parc Naturel Régional de Corse.

Landscape and coast
Plage de Calzarellu is a large sandy beach at the foot of the Calzarellu Tower. It stretches from the right bank of the Fium’Orbu River to Étang de Gradugine and is lined with dense maquis scrub. The beach has toilets, showers, an access path, a car park and facilities for people with reduced mobility.
Culture and history
Below the village lies Couvent San Francescu, also known as the Capuchin monastery. Today it is a ruin; consolidation work has been carried out to secure the most severely damaged parts of the building. Couvent San Francescu was built in 1703 at Palestinu on the initiative of Father François, who was born in Prunelli.
The ruins of Cursa can be reached via the shortcut road from Prunelli, provided that the landowner’s permission has been obtained beforehand. The Pievanie de la Cursa dates from the 10th or 11th century. Its remains preserve liturgical columns, a round baptismal font, a column capital and a door tympanum.
The San Ghjuvanni Evangelista site is considered one of the earliest testimonies to the Christianisation of Corsica. The present building dates back to the late 4th or early 5th century. The site includes a church and the remains of a medieval settlement.
Part of the former harbour quay of Calzarellu at the foot of the Calzarellu Tower is still visible today. Prunelli is also home to the Church of Santa Maria, a fortified church in the classical style.
Hiking trails and special activities
The hiking trails in Prunelli include the historic Sentier des 7 fontaines. An official, self-guided 43-kilometre history and heritage circuit also starts in Prunelli di Fiumorbu.
In Acquacitosa in Prunelli-di-Fiumorbo, Corse Constellation offers astronomy lessons, introductory courses, interactive lectures, discovery workshops, large-screen projections and stargazing with binoculars and telescopes, including solar observation. Events entitled “Nights of the Stars” are also offered.
Ecurie Solea offers horse rides accompanied by trained professionals. These include a one-hour nature and river experience as well as a two-hour ride between fields and the coast, including walking through the water.
La Calèche du Fiumorbu organises carriage rides and aperitif outings by carriage. It is also possible to take part in birthdays, weddings, carnival events and markets.
