In the 12th century, San Petru di Luri was one of the original Pieve churches of the former Diocese of Mariana. In 1751, at the request of the community, Pope Benedict XIV elevated the church to a collegiate church. The Church of Saint-Pierre, also known as San Petru di Luri, contains a 15th-century wooden altarpiece.
In Luri, the Chapel of Saint-Jacques and Saint-Philippe in Piazza, in the centre of the village, is part of the “Route des chapelles du Cap Corse”, launched in 2016. A total of 18 chapels were selected, one for each municipality.

Paths and Circular Walks
“L’Appel du grand large” is an easy, yellow-marked circular route covering 4 km and taking approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. The hike begins in Campu (Campo) and leads through holm oak and cork oak trees to the Chapel of San Salvatore. It can be extended to the ruined village of Mata; the same path then leads back to Campu.
The “Chemin du Patrimoine – Chjassu di a Memoria” is a circular route that begins in the hamlet of U Fenu (Fieno). Visitors should leave their vehicle in the hamlet of Liccetu.
The “Parcours de santé – arboretum” is a 2 km circular route on flat terrain that passes through an arboretum. In Luri, it is designated as both a walking circular route and a hiking trail (PR); there are 12 exercise stations along the route.
Nature
The Tour de Sénèque is a medieval tower on a 564 m-high rocky spur. It is a viewpoint overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Mediterranean.
The harbour of Santa Severa has 150 berths for pleasure boats measuring between 5 and 12 m in length. Berths can be provided annually, monthly or daily.
