Moriani-Plage is the seaside resort on the Tyrrhenian coast of San Nicolao. Plage de Padulella is located there, a very large fine-sand beach in Moriani-Plage interspersed with lagoons. At Moriani Beach, Costa Verde Aventure offers banana boat rides, canoeing and kayaking, pedal boating, stand-up paddleboarding, water skiing, and wakeboarding from June to September.
Activities
The Parc Aventure de Moriani is located in the Lieu dit Suarti area of San-Nicolao. The facility has nine treetop climbing courses for all age groups and levels of difficulty; they are accessible from the age of three. The Parc Aventure de Moriani also has inflatable castles for children.
Nature and Trails
Two tunnels carved into the rock frame the Cascade de l'Ucelluline waterfall along a scenic road. The Cascade de l'Ucelluline is located on the border between Santa Maria Poghju and Santu Nicolaiu. The hamlets of San Nicolao are starting points for numerous hiking trails in the Costa Verde. Canyoning is also possible in the surroundings of San Nicolao.
Culture and History
The Aqueduc de l'Ercate was more than 1 kilometre long. It ended at the former, now vanished forge of Moriani and is visible from the road leading up to the village.
The Eglise paroissiale San Nicolao was completed in 1717 and classified as a historic monument on 6 October 1976. The parish church has a nave and five richly decorated side chapels.
The Padul'Ella Festival features exclusively female singing and usually takes place at the end of July.
