Feliceto: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Feliceto lies in the Montegrosso Massif; the Reginu River runs through the village and irrigates the plain of the same name. At the same time, the village brings together religious architectural heritage, traditional agriculture and paths through the surrounding landscape.

Culture and History

The Church of Saint-Nicolas in Feliceto, dedicated to Saint Nicholas, was built in several phases from the late 17th to the 19th century. Its 14 Stations of the Cross were painted by Saverio Farinole between 1720 and 1760. Another notable landmark is A casetta di Falcunaghja, an underground house from the 17th century that overlooks Feliceto from an altitude of 800 metres.

The San Roccu festival includes a procession and a mass on 16 August; a large dance evening is also scheduled for 16 and 17 August. The historic site of Couvent d'Alzi Prato, the Couvent de Marcasso monastery, the Couvent Saint-Dominique monastery and the ruins of Tour de Saleccia are located around Feliceto. The “Dans les yeux de Lucie” workshop is also part of the local offering: imaginative jewellery pieces with 24-carat gold plating and gemstones are created there in small series or as unique pieces; custom-made items are also available.

Local Life

At the end of the 19th century, Feliceto’s 600 inhabitants lived mainly from grain, olive oil, wine, chestnuts, crafts and livestock farming. At that time, there were 200 hectares of olive groves, whose yield powered six mills, as well as 47 hectares of vineyards, 18 hectares of chestnut groves and 2,600 livestock animals, including 2,000 sheep.

Landscape and Surroundings

The nearby surroundings of Feliceto include Monte Longu, the summit of Cima Caselle, Monte Tolu and San Parteo.

The Boucle de Sant'Andria begins in Feliceto and follows paths to the old gardens and their mills, as well as across a Genoese bridge over the Regino. A hike to A Casetta di Falcunaghja is classified as moderately difficult and involves an ascent of 600 metres.
