Oletta combines the Église Saint-André, which was protected as a historic monument by decree of 19 March 1979, with the Ange Leccia Centre for Contemporary Art, founded in 2014 at the Maison Conti in the heart of the village. Those who choose Oletta as a holiday destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment.

Culture and History

Construction of the Église Saint-André in Oletta began in 1777; green stones from the demolition of the previous building were reused. A 16th-century triptych associated with the church was protected as a historic monument in 1956.

The former Saint-François monastery in Oletta was built at the end of the 12th or beginning of the 13th century. Its chapel was listed as a historic monument by decree of 29 November 1974.

The Centre for Contemporary Art focuses primarily on moving images, as well as the production and mediation of international contemporary art.

The Musée d'Art Sacré is located in the single-nave interior of the Santa Croce Chapel. It uses stereoscopic image panels to show monuments and churches in three-dimensional perspective; 1,000 remarkable religious objects from Cap Corse, Nebbiu and Custera are presented virtually.
