Mont Pietrapolu reaches an elevation of 1,104 metres. In the immediate vicinity of Bigorno, Monte Tasso is a mountain; Cima a u Spazzolu and Quercitello are also peaks nearby. Monte Reghia di Pozzo is a mountain in the vicinity of Bigorno.

Connections

The D5, formerly known as Route du Général Mollard, crosses the Col de Bigornu at an elevation of 885 metres and continues via Murato into the Nebbiu.

Culture

The Virgin Mary is the patron saint of Bigorno and is traditionally celebrated there on 15 August. The ruins of Château de Monte Chjaru include a medieval castle; the tower is first mentioned in 1247. Château de Monte Chjaru consists of a keep, two residential buildings and a castle chapel dedicated to Saint Catalina. The site lies at a strategic location on the edge of important routes and offers views of the Pieve of a Custera/Bigornu and part of the valley.

The Eglise de Sant'Agostino is located about a 15-minute walk above the village of Bigorno. Its roof has completely collapsed, while the church itself is still standing and preserved to a height of approximately two to three metres.
