In the vicinity of Beaugency, the Rives de Beaugency are designated as a Natura 2000 site, including the SAC FR2400528 “Vallée de la Loire de Tavers à Belleville-sur-Loire”, the SAC FR2400565 “Vallée de la Loire de Mosnes à Tavers”, the SPA FR2410001 “Vallée de la Loire du Loir-et-Cher” and the SPA FR2410017 “Vallée de la Loire du Loiret”; since 2019, they have also been designated as an Espace naturel sensible by the Loiret département.

In the vicinity of Beaugency, the Les Rives de Beaugency nature site is open to the public via a 4-kilometre discovery trail that crosses the Loire bridge; 1 kilometre of it follows a circular route through the natural area. European beavers have lived at the Rives de Beaugency since the 1980s; common terns and little terns breed on the islands opposite the bridge of Beaugency.

The Beaugency SNCF railway station is an eight-minute walk from the Château de Beaugency.

Culture

The Château de Beaugency includes the 13th-century Saint-Georges chapel, numerous 16th-century doors with preserved mouldings by Carvet, reconstructed original stained-glass windows in the listed section, 15th-century roof timbers and a Renaissance façade.

The Church of Saint-Étienne is a Romanesque church dating from the 11th century and is now used as an exhibition venue. The Tour César is a square keep with a current height of approximately 36 metres. It is one of the last surviving examples of Romanesque military architecture. The abbey church of Notre-Dame features Romanesque architecture.

The bridge of Beaugency was built in the 12th century and is more than 400 metres long.

The Labyrinthe de Beaugency was created in a 4-hectare cornfield. During the walk through the Labyrinthe de Beaugency, visitors must solve puzzles.
